A session by Prof Anil Gupta [October 20 at 9 pm]

India is passing through an exciting point in its history, when more and more young people are charging the atmosphere and trying to make a breakthrough, all in their unique ways. Making a breakthrough often requires getting inner and outer self urges in line.  The interaction will help us all see numerous opportunities in social, cultural, technological and entrepreneurial spheres of nation building through which we can make a breakthrough. It is true that several of us have pursued paths that we liked, that society admired, and that our parents, who love us most, chose for us. But is it not time, we live our life through pursuit of dreams we have in our eyes? 

Most of us are unaware of any opportunities in this sphere. It is with that in mind that Professor Anil Gupta wants to speak to us all, to discuss if there are enough opportunities around. 

The talk will be held in CR4 tomorrow i.e.,  Wednesday, October 20 at 9 pm. Everybody is cordially invited to attend the talk, discuss your experiences and help create a positive environment for such activities within the campus.

In case you are unaware of who Prof Anil Gupta is, well, he focuses a lot on finding, promoting and replicating India's hidden hotbeds of innovation, which could lead to development of the encompassing societies. The Entrepreneurship Fair 2010 from Nov 7th.

IIM Ahmedabad has been on the forefront for nurturing entrepreneurship amongst its students. The institute has been organizing a "Start-Up Fair" for several years now to enable first year students to seek summer internships in start-up firms. The fair has received a good response from both students and entrepreneurs in start-up ventures in the past.

This year, the Placement Committee of IIM Ahmedabad, in collaboration with the Entre club and CIIE, is extending participation in the Entrepreneurship fair to select Business schools across India. The Entrepreneurship Fair 2010 is a grand platform to bring together budding entrepreneurs from across the nation and some of the most recent start-up successes in India from diverse domains and background.

The Entrepreneurship Fair 2010 will be held at IIM Ahmedabad on November 7th, 2010. An interested candidate can walk up to any of the Start-up stalls to inquire about the firm; its objectives, the initial seed idea, the challenges faced, the current status, opportunities within the sector, future plans amongst other details. To the enthusiastic student this also presents an unparalleled opportunity to interact directly with the entrepreneurs behind the venture to know about how to shape a potential business opportunity into a successful venture and also explore an opportunity to work or intern with the firm.

IIM Ahmedabad through the Centre for Innovation, Incubation and Entrepreneurship (CIIE) has groomed several entrepreneurs over the years and this is a further step in this direction. Through this initiative we aspire to bring the right opportunity to the right people at the right place. We urge you to make the most of this opportunity.

Entre Store (outside student mess) is Back

With great pleasure and pride, we announce the Reopening of your very own Entre Store outside the student mess, after a 2 weeks renovation drive.

We thank the entire IIMA community for their cooperation and support and would like to invite all to visit the store and give us valuable feedback on the new look and how we can further improve it (and of course, Shop with us!!)

It is our constant endeavour to provide the students with best quality products and in this endeavour we plan to enhance our merchandize. Over the next few weeks, we plan to bring a whole lot of new products that we will slowly add to the store. We invite the student community to help us improve thestore operations by providing us with suggestions and new product ideas. 

Do you have an artist within you? Are you a painter? Sculpture? Photographer? We have allocated space for all of this at the Entre Store. Bring out your talent and we will provide you the platform to showcase your talent. You are also welcome to get your artwork evaluated from independent sources and keep for sale at the Entre Store.

The reopening also marks the Beginning of Tee Fight Round 3, where the Top 3 T Shirts have been made available at the Entre Store, and the T-shirt that sells the most in the next 15 days will be declared winner for a cash prize of whopping Rs. 20,000/-!!

8th October afternoon (2:30 pm to 6:00 pm), IIM A will be glittering with the presence of the gems it produced.  A session from

The session is expected to be extremely powerful considering the audience that they are addressing. According to Prof. Sunil Handa, each of them is a maharathi and is worth meeting / listening to.
Entre Club has requested CIIE to open the session for PGP and PGP-X students. But before that is done, we need to make an assessment of how many people would be attending the session. Currently the venue is IMDC Auditorium, but if there is sufficient interest, we can get it shifted to RJMCEI Auditorium.

Based on the survey and the number of people expected for ET-Power of Ideas, the venue has been kept as IMDC Auditorium only. Note that seats will be available on FCFS basis, with higher priority to Faculty and Power of Ideas participants.
The ET-Power of Ideas finalists will also be present for the session.

Entre Club, IIM A invites you to the next Entre Club Speaker Session, conducted by Ms. Rashmi Bansal on Friday, 8th October at 9:00 pm.
Ms. Bansal, an IIM-A alumnus, of the "Stay Hungry, Stay Foolish" and "Connect the Dots" fame writes and speaks extensively about entrepreneurship. Come listen to hear her talk about the roller-coaster ride that being a young entrepreneur is!

Entre Club supports Prayaas

Entre is a students’ initiative and we believe in promoting education as an important part of our society. Entre Club supports Prayaas, which is an IIMA initiative to teach children of the underprivileged. 

We support Prayaas in various ways:

•  Entre Store donates a part of our profits to Prayaas
•  Entre have given shelf space in Entre Store to keep Prayaas T-shirts
•  Entre encourage our members to take up social initiatives similar to Prayaas
•  Entre Store promotes Prayaas students’ artwork by collecting them and auctioning at the store. The proceeds of the auction goes to the creators of the artwork.

Moving forward, Entre Club endeavours to support Prayaas in various other ways possible that fall in the purview of the Entre Club and Entre Store.!!
